Sometimes I underestimate the time I will need to complete a project due to underestimating how much stuff I have. This is what happened today. I have already painted my sewing cart pink and thought I would need no more than 30 minutes to organize. I was so wrong. I did not realize how much sewing stuff I actually have!
This is a before and after picture from when the last time I organized my sewing cart, and had a lot less stuff!
As you can see in the first picture I have three small boxes and one large box in my cart. The first of the small boxes is for my sewing supplies, such as thread, needles, etc.
And what better way to organize than have a dog who wants to play ๐
The second small box is for all the accessories, such as buttons, zippers and lots and lots of ribbons.
The third box I keep all the chords for the sewing machine as well as a converter.
The big box is supposed to room all my fabric (this is when I realized I was screwed)
As I knew I would need to fit in all of this as well as another box.
The final product, tucked away in my closet when not in use!
Those 30 minutes today I used to sort through what I have, threw some stuff away and figure out I need a new plan of action. I think I will have to create a two-part system. Part one is all the stuff I have not got any plans for. They will be in a box in the basement storage area, which also includes a list of everything In there with a small photo-sample of the fabrics. The second part is for the material I actually have a plan for. These I will keep in the sewing cart. I am estimating I will have maybe 3-4 projects upstairs and the rest downstairs.
I would love if you left me a comment :)
