Easter is just around the corner, and when I was a child this meant the excitement of a visit from the Easter Bunny!
As an adult, I miss those hunts for colorful eggs with treats stashed inside. This year I’m re-inventing that excitement with an adult twist:
The Grown-up Easter Bunny
You will need:
1. Not opened bottles of beer
2. Mini bottles of liquor, whatever strikes your fancy
3. Cotton puff balls for tails
4. Assorted Ribbon, Shredded Paper
5. Plastic Eggs
6. 1 Sheet of white craft foam (or thick white paper)
7. Plastic Easter eggs. I found sparkly ones;)!
8. A hot glue gun
This project comes together in a SNAP. I think these are great for parties or I’m gifting mine to my fabulous mommy friends that need a little laugh as their wee ones reach sugar-highs from egg hunting goodies!
First put a dab of glue in your egg, place the mini liquor bottle in. Then layer glue all around the bottle and stick the colorful shredded paper to it. Finish with a dab of glue on top, cap off the egg, and then hot glue a ribbon on the bottom to wrap all the way around and tie at the top:
You’ll be finished in no time, with a cute treat just for the grown-ups!
For the my main man, I decided to create a Beer Bottle Bunny!
I found this pattern at Nestle Family online for bunny ears:
I printed the image, cut it out, and traced it onto my white craft foam:
With a little imagination and my glue gun in hand, I tacked down the ears, added puff-ball tails, and made one a Mr. Bunny and the other a Mrs.
You can obviously use whatever beer you enjoy, and perhaps next time I’ll even add faces! I liked having the hint of a beer bottle posing as a bunny rabbit, but I can’t wait to see what you dream up.
I hope this can add a fun twist to your Easter egg hunt this year!
The holiday is only a hop, skip, and a jump away;)
Happy (early) Easter!
