I find this is quite a funny recipe, in Norwegian it’s called German Slices (directly translated) and it is a checkered cookie with two squares of normal cookie dough and two squares with a chocolate version. It’s super fun to make!
Ingredients
- 175 g butter
- 125 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 230 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 ts vanilla sugar
- 2 tsp cocoa powder (optional: without it you just get a plain cookie
Instructions
- Mix butter and sugar until white in a mixer
- Add the egg and continue mixing
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix
- Split the dough in two, mix the cocoa powder in one of the pieces
- Split both the pieces of dough in two and roll 4 equally long sausages
- Assemble the pieces so you get the chocolate on opposite sides like the picture
- Get in a cool place for a day
- Cut into about 5-10 mm ( 0.2-0.4 inch ) thick pieces and put on a baking sheet
- Put them in the middle of the oven for about 8-10 minutes at 200 C ( 390 F )
I would love if you left me a comment :)
