I love chevron, something about it just really speaks to me. Today I am going to share quite an old craft. I made this art probably about 2 years ago, but I still love it and I still use it as decoration.
I started off with an old canvas I painted in a moment of boredom. I was bored and felt like painting something really simple, and oh its so ugly! Sorry aboutsome of the photos as well, they are not the best of colours.
I started by painted three coats of white paint. You can still see the heart through it, but I think it makes a really cool effect.
I wanted to have a pretty chevron pattern and first I tried using masking tape, but it wouldn’t stick to my 5 layers of paint. I then decided to try it using a ruler and a pencil. I was hoping the pencil marks wouldnt show, and since I was planning on using blue and red paint I gave it a shot.
First I painted the blue stripes, two layers of it.
I then continues with the red paint. Oh my goodness, the colours gave me a slight headache and pain in my eyes.
I needed to figure out a way to tone down the colours, I added a tiny bit of white paint and really worked it into the brush strokes to give it a slight distressed look. Much better, but not wuite finished.
I really liked the background and did not want to distrurb it with more colour so I decided to try a silhouette. I ended up choosing a bird on some branches.
I love the way it turned out. Its just so beautiful! A lot better than the original painting and better that I expected. Lets just look at the before and after photos again. From Bleh to WOW!

This is gorgeous Trine, such a difference from how it started, WOW! I loved how you did your chevrons with the ruler as well, that will help me in a few projects I have coming up. Thank you for the inspiration!
