I need pink in my office to be inspired. That is a fact. This DIY pretty Desk Pad is perfect!
We recently renovated the hallway and changes it from library/storage space to office. We are still waiting for the backsplash so I have not been able to post about it yet.
I loved this new space. I finally had a place I could sit and work which was not the couch or kitchen table. It was however lacking that little extra for this to be the best home office ever. I needed a big splash of pink!
How to make a custom desk pad
Materials:
- Clear desk pad, like this one from IKEA
- Pretty Wrapping Paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
Here is a before picture of my desk. See what I mean – it too simple and boring and needs a splash of colour. Remember you can use any wrapping paper you want! The opportunities are endless: colours, patterns etc and easy to switch!
It’s so simple to make. You just lay the mat on the backside of the wrapping paper. Make sure to line up two sides if possible to make it easier. Then you just trace, cut and place it the correct way! Voila! Splash of colour! Its perfect except for the fact it may not stay in the same spot for long. As the bottom of the wrapping paper is smooth this happens. I personally dont mind.
So this is where I sit and blog. Usually with a cup of tea in my hand.

Hey there fellow bewitchin’ blog party host. This is a great idea, I’m currently working on a home office nook and a desk pad would be a great addition.

Awesome! I love that it gives some colour to the desk and its super easy to switch! I am thinking of changing mine to something with more pattern – I just have to find some new paper!
