This weeks project was actually a really fun one. So one of my goals is actually to only wear made-by-me clothing, so this week I decided to take it one step further. I first tried a bought pattern, but it was not my style at all. But I do have these hipsters from h&m that I love and well I have like 8 of them or something, so I am always running low. I decided to take one of them (that needed replacing because it had gotten quite washed out) and cut it up. I then traced it onto my pattern paper (aka building plastic) and voila! New pattern. I needed to make some small adjustments but I am so pleased with how these turned out.
The first one, I made earlier this week and the second during the week. Actually, I cut 5 more out of scrap fabric – so I just have to buy more of the stretch lace. I have bought it on eBay so its quite cheap. Since I am only using scrap fabrics I pretty much get these for free. I have a box full of scraps so I will be making about a thousand more of these.
I totally recommend you to do this as well. Take one of those well worn underwear that you should throw out, but they are just so comfy! Cut them up, make a pattern and make a thousand of them!
So how close am I to have an entire made-by-me wardrobe? Well with my new bralette pattern, I pretty much only need everyday socks. I have made a pair out of a thick fabric that I wear to bed (So I kick them off during the night when it gets too hot) but they are not really every day. Also I should probably make some tights if thats possible. I dont know. I have anyways come a long way, but there is still a long way to go.
I would love if you left me a comment :)
